Sweetest Goodbye - Goodbye Sale!

Hey, guys! Sweetest Goodbye is going out of business. It's a bummer, though, because there are a lot of fun clothes there. On the upside, this also means: Closing Sale! 50% off, to be more precise, until Augest 31st! I headed over there and picked up a few items (ok, SEVERAL items). Pink Fuel - Elly

Hi! I have tried, and loved, Pink Fuel skins before, but they've never been a staple for me. I do own a few, though. When I got wind of the Elly skin, I was intrigued. I am, after all, a skin collector. -That makes me sound creepy...

I ran over to try it and here's my honest opinion: It is a VERY sweet, beautiful skin. A bit young looking, but you can mix it up with some of the lipstick options you are given. (And you are given a TON) If you get the fatpack (for 6,500 $L), you end up with 22 makeup options. I didn't like them all, so spending that much on it was making me think twice.

The quietest skin option was Pure. I decided I was going to go see how much just the one was... because I really do like it. As it turns out, Mochi Milena has paired off the skins. I ended up getting the Pure/Angelic pack, plus a load of lip options, for 900L. It comes with light and dark brows, with and without freckles. I love freckles. I went with a darker-than-my-usual skin tone because it's summer and my avi isn't worried about skin cancer. :D

So here... two of the Elly skin options, and a mostly full-body shot so you can see the nice detail. I'm wearing the natural gloss in all pics.

Bitch mode!

Ok.. so far I've only blogged what I like and that's what I'll primarily focus on. This, however, is a post about something that irritates me! (aren't you so excited?!)

I was standing in a very stylish store in SL called {mon tissu}. They have very high quality clothing that I love to check out when I hear about new stuff! (so, yes, drop stuff/go now) I happen to take my time when choosing something to buy.. so I could stand in front of a row of skirts for 20 minutes before deciding I definitely wanted this one or that. (I digress...) Anyway, I suddenly got a LM dropped on my head for another store. I hate this. Don't go to other people's stores to advertise your own. Get out there and get on blogs, get on Plurk, wear stuff out in public and get noticed.. advertise yourself!! So already points are off this place. But.. in all fairness and thinking of you guys (what if this place is awesome?!), I accepted instead of my usual decline. I knew I'd check it out when I got the time.

Today I got the time. I dug it up and was very hopeful when I double clicked that lm. Then I arrived. Yeah. There were three pictures with tattoos for sale... and a pair of legging in several colors up on white walls with no character to the shop what-so-ever. That's it. Um.. if you're going to hand me a lm when I'm in another store, you better bring it! There better be something worth my time there!

(Oh, wait.. they did have two lucky chairs. What they were giving away, I have no idea. There were only 5 or so items to give...)

In short, I am a faithful shopper of the stores I like, and I suppose this post is much more about new designers learning how to actually get their names out in a positive way, rather than using other designers' popularity. (This probably stems from having designer friends who have worked hard to get where they are!) If you have good stuff, you're going to be able to entice a blogger to talk about you. It's a start. Plurk is a wonderful tool, as well. If you want the notoriety.. do the work. For serious.

Oh, Odette!

There can be no denying I have a fascination with Lara Hurley skins. I think they're absolutely beautiful. Add to that every skin she creates seems an improvement over the last one, and in my eyes, it's a great line! As with any skin... a shape should be tweaked here and there to maximize the quality of it on your avi.

The newest skin released, called Odette, is the most "forgiving" Lara Hurley skin I've seen for different shapes. You probably won't need to tweak for this one AS much. Her skins always have luscious lips and beautiful eyes. Odette is no different. So quick, quick! Go try Odette right now! xoxo

Ladies, if you have not been to The Sea Hole, I encourage you to drop whatever you're doing RIGHT NOW, and check it out. There are MANY things worth checking out in there, not to mention my "it" wear of the summer... as often as my vanity will allow... this Nicosia Sun Suit! I have it in two colors. If I wouldn't feel like such a nerd... I'd get every one of them! It has a PLUNGING halter neckline, sweet ruffles on the bottom of the shorts, and an adorable prim bow in the back that "holds it all up" (Sorry, you can't see that in this pic!). So, again.. drop it... drooooop it!! Now go to The Sea Hole!!
