Maitreya Jeans!

Maitreya recently released several items, among them... this fantastic flared mesh jean in 8 colors. Other than the Buid jeans I blogged earlier this month, I had yet to find a pair of MESH jeans that didn't make me look like an "invisible pony rider". The gap is a little wider than my true shape, but nothing too shocking. Maitreya did very well with this release. Jeans, tanks, HAIR, and a very pretty dress. Make sure you check them out here.

Maitreya + Truth

That's like saying "peanut butter and chocolate" to me. It's such a yummy combination! This weekend, Maitreya released some basics that I am soomgahsuperexcited about! Jeans, boots, leggings, and my personal favorite has to be the mesh skirts available in tons of colors and three lengths! Below the knee, above the knee, and mini. Yeah, I can see myself needing several of these...

And now to Truth. Mr. Hawks treated us to 3 releases this week. Two are mesh, and one is not. All are very cute. I'm featuring the Savina here.

This Stuff:
Hair: Truth - Savina (new!)
Skin: Glam Affair - Leah
Top: Decoy - Manzano
Skirt: Maitreya - Mesh Pencil Skirt Lth2 (new!)
Shoes: GField - Alex
Pose: LAP - BG1 - Barbie10

Ok, so I've linked you to Truth's Truth District store, because he puts his new stuff there, too, and it's usually way less crowded than the big store. If you want to check all his stuff, though, just go here.

Let's Chat...

FIRST... ColdLogic = Awesome. Beautiful basics all in mesh. I'm going to show off my first purchase that I was crazy about, with more to come! I kinda feel like I stepped right out of the 70's in this jumper, but I think it looks comfortable and fun:

Shoes: Maitreya - Allegre
Earrings : Mandala - Luck

But now, I feel compelled to discuss something with you all. I've seen a disturbing trend in mesh wear the past couple of days. If you've tried mesh, you understand that you're probably going to have to modify yourself just a bit. I have two shapes. I have my "normal" one, and I have my "mesh" one. I've done very little modification to the mesh shape so that everything is proportionate when I put on mesh. That would be the key word: PROPORTION. What I've been seeing, however, is that some would rather have pants that look too big than to modify themselves just a smidge so they can fit themselves into the size that looks right on their avatar. In my opinion, this defeats the entire purpose of mesh. Mesh is supposed to make smooth lines and move with the body. If your pants/shirt/dress are too big, you're not really "doing it right", and that's a shame because mesh is amazing!! (And I will take a picture if I see another avi like this because it looks ridiculous!)

More Maitreya Mesh:

Oh, I have no doubt this blog will be full of Maitreya mesh in time. Don't get me wrong, there are some good mesh products out there that aren't Maitreya, and I will feature them, too. Celoe (Lelutka/mon tissu) set the bar by presenting beautiful mesh, and (in MY opinion), Maitreya raised it. I present you with the beautiful Athena sweater, and the Radical Boots! Both mesh, both amazing.

Maitreya Mesh:
Skin: Filthy - Laika
Hair: Truth - Velvet (CUTE HAIR ALERT!!!)
Top: Maitreya - Athena Sweater (mesh!)
Pants: mon tissu - Lou Lou Jeans
Shoes: Maitreya - Radical Boots (mesh!)
Earrings: Magic Nook - Baroque Earrings

I have to give props where they are due, and I know I blog Maitreya often, but they have a commitment to quality that I respect very much. They are certainly not the only ones. I could rattle off lots of designers who I believe foot the same bill... and on this blog, I have. See you guys again soon! xoxo

Well Played, Maitreya... well played

Ok, so just when I began to wonder if anything would get me into the mesh game... in walks this incredible offering from Maitreya. I was in awe. I'm just... WELL, LOOK AT IT!!! Absolutely gorgeous.

Ok, so a few additional things. One, I think this blog will be more consistent in the coming months. I took a month off and feel much more refreshed! TWO, if you don't have a mesh enabled viewer, get one. You have no idea what you're missing, for serious. You can expect to see more mesh treasures as I stumble upon them. And THREE, I am proud to welcome a new photographer on board in the form of Elle Kirshner. I'm so excited to be collaborating with her!!! So... I hope you run out and buy this new dress. It's not cheap, but totally worth every penny. xoxo

The new Allegre shoes by Maitreya are just so yummy. One pair will set you back 975L, but look how pretty!!! I'm wearing them in black, but they have several color options available... all equally delicious!
